Andrew’s Alaska story began in fourth grade when he watched a National Geographic documentary called Braving Alaska. Something about the wild landscapes, remote country, and sense of adventure captured his imagination and never let go.
The day after graduating high school in Dallas, Texas, Andrew packed up his old Land Cruiser and headed north. Alaska has been home ever since.
Since arriving in 1999, Andrew has spent more than 25 years living, working, and exploring throughout Alaska. Over the years he’s lived completely off the grid, spent time in remote communities, guided rafting and ecotourism trips in the Arctic, and built a life centered around the outdoors and the wilderness that first drew him here.
His path into professional hunting began as an assistant guide, where he spent years learning from experienced mentors before becoming a Registered Alaska Guide-Outfitter and starting Word of Mouth Guiding & Outfitting.
Today, Andrew guides hunters pursuing moose, caribou, and bear across Alaska's Interior and beyond. He enjoys meeting people from all over, sharing this country with them, and helping them have a safe, successful hunt.
