A Different Way to Learn
Bald Mountain Meadow specializes in interdisciplinary, place-based learning experiences for students and teachers. Our programs foster a deep connection to place through firsthand encounters with natural landscapes and their human and non-human stakeholders. On Bald Mountain Meadow expeditions, participants learn to create joy, build community, and nurture connections. In the end, they return home with the confidence and purpose to live these values in their home place, wherever that may be.

An Experience That Stays With You
The impact of a Bald Mountain Meadow experience doesn’t end with the program. Hear from students and educators about how their experiences have shaped the way they learn, teach, connect, and engage with the world around them.

"When I picked my daughter up from the airport yesterday, she immediately said, ‘That was by far the greatest experience of my entire life!’ I can’t even begin to describe how monumental that was to hear. She was so inspired, empowered, and grateful to all of you (and to us!) for allowing her this opportunity."

"I am grateful to Bald Mountain Meadow because I was able to reconnect with the natural world and be exposed to experiences outside of my comfort zone. I will never forget the people I've met and the sense of community we built in those two short weeks. I gained a newfound appreciation for maple syrup and the sugaring process."
Clare
Student

"This program re-invigorated my commitment to teaching and the environment. Being able to be a part of an intentional community that shares resources, passions, failures, thoughts, and reflections in a safe and rigorous space is really what I need every year to serve my students best. I am so grateful for this experience."
Kristin
Educator

"On our first night at Bald Mountain Meadow, we trudged into the snowy forest and stood under the starry night sky surrounded by nothing but the sounds of rustling leaves and hooting owls. Was this the way humans were supposed to interact with the world?"
Hanna
Student

"Bald Mountain Meadow allowed me to experience nature and community in a way I never had before, and I'm so grateful to have had the opportunity to experience the land and learn the stories of place that I did."
